Police arrested a 50-year old man identified as a suspect in two separate burglaries on the night of August 30. The first break-in, at the office of an ad agency on the 500 block of N. Clark, occurred around 9:30 p.m. Upon entering the premise, the man was spotted by an employee of the firm who was working late that evening.

Alvaro Obregon has been running a street basketball program for 11 years and has never played a game. Accordingly, it should come as no surprise that Obregon had no idea that basketball was invented to give young men something productive to do. In fact, he said if it weren’t for the love of basketball shown by the kids in Chicago neighborhoods, he would prefer to run a baseball league.

A 55-year-old woman reported at 3:15 p.m. August 13 a strong-arm robbery in an elevator on the 700 block of N. LaSalle. A man wearing a bright pink shirt reached into the first floor elevator and grabbed a necklace from around the victim’s neck.
